Pastor's
Notes
In
a continuing effort to offer guidance about the Mass I have been listing tips
in recent bulletins. As always, if you
have specific questions, please ask me, or one of the deacons.
·
Twinned Parishes: As I have mentioned, St. Mary and St.
Theresa are twinned parishes. This is
different from being a merged parish, in that each parish has a separate parish
council, liturgical committee, religious education program, office and
collection. The only shared resource is
the Pastor. That does not mean we are totally separate, however. If you find
that a Mass time at St. Mary accommodates your schedule better than St.
Theresa, feel free to go to that Mass and know that your contribution envelope
will be forwarded to St. Theresa.
·
Safe Environment:
If your child needs to use the bathroom or
just needs a break during Mass, please escort them out. Allowing children to wander loose during Mass
is unsafe and disruptive to other parishioners.
·
Ministries:
There are many ministry opportunities in
parish life. If you are interested in
joining an existing ministry, or if you have an idea for something that could
improve our parish family, please contact the parish office. Lay ministers play an important role in
keeping a parish alive and vibrant. With
the shortage of priests, lay ministers are more important than ever.
