Mark will be on vacation until August 4th.  If you would like to attend daily Mass, please consider visiting St. John in Concord at 12:10 p.m. Monday - Friday or IHM Monday - Thursday at 9:00 a.m. Magdalen College in Warner has Mass Monday - Saturday at 8:00 a.m.  There is no Mass in Bennington or Peterborough this week because their priest is on vacation as well.

R.C.I.A – If you or someone you know is interested in becoming Catholic or rejoining the Church, we invite you to come to an R.C.I.A. (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) inquiry and information session.  Please contact the parish office or Tom and Jan Riley at 938-5539 to make an appointment.  We can meet after one of the Masses in the parish hall or at your convenience.  Come with questions and/or concerns.  All are welcome.

 

 

Fall Adult Confirmation

If you are an adult who has received the Sacrament of Eucharist and Reconciliation and would like to complete your full initiation into the Church with the Sacrament of Confirmation, please contact the Parish Office.  There will be an Adult Confirmation Program for people 18 and over who regularly attend Mass, but who have never received the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Bishop John McCormack will be celebrating this Mass honoring all couples who will mark their 25th, 30th, 35th, 40th, 45th or 50th anniversary and beyond in 2008. The Bishop would like to send a personal invitation to couples that would like to attend this Mass.  Please contact the parish office with your name, address and how many years you've been married before Friday, August 1, 2008.

In the next week information packets will be mailed to all families who have registered students.  If you don't receive this packet, but intend for your children to attend Religious Education, please contact the office as soon as possible.  As in previous years, we will not allow students to register on the first day of class.

 

Third Grade Teachers needed

We have openings for two third grade teachers for this year.  If you would like to share your faith with our children, please contact the parish office for more information.  The program we use is very teacher friendly.  If you would like to review the materials before making a commitment, be sure to let us know.

The registration fee is waived for families that volunteer in the classroom.

Henniker Old Home Days

August 1, 2 & 3

Join us for a weekend long celebration!  Friday night Main Street will be closed to through traffic, as the sounds of music from area bands and the wonderful smell of food from local restaurants waft through the air.  While music will dominate the evening, it will also be the start of a weekend long Art & Quilt Show as well as a special Historical Society Exhibit.  Saturday will include a parade, family games, craft show, chicken BBQ and pie eating contest!  Later in the evening, bring your blanket for our family picnic with more bands.  Join us Sunday for a pancake breakfast on the beautiful New England College Covered Bridge.  For a complete list of events and times, please visit our website at: www.hennikeroldhomedays.org

The cost for this event is $100 per player, or $400 for a team of 4.  Shotgun start at 8:00 a.m., scramble format. There will be a putting contest, raffle, prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th place winners.  There will be a chance to win a NEW vehicle with a Hole-In-One from Grappone Toyota of Concord.

Recently Baptized: Deacon Winton recently baptized Taylor Adele Dearden, daughter of Scott and Alanna Dearden of Bradford, NH.  Please pray for her as she continues to grow in God's grace.

 

Vocation Chalice: This week the Vocation Chalice will be held by Jeannine Aucoin. If you would like to hold the Vocation Chalice and pray for vocations, please see the Vocations table in the Narthex to sign up.

 

Rosary and Adoration

We still have adoration and the rosary every Thursday evening during the summer.  Won't you consider joining us as we pray for peace in families, our country and the world?  We meet from 6:00 p.m.- 7:15 p.m. every Thursday evening. 

 

There is also silent adoration from 9:00 a.m. - Noon on Wednesday mornings.  If you'd like to spend some time in peaceful prayer before our Lord, please sign up in the white binder in the back of the church.

 

Rosary is said Monday - Thursday at 8:00 a.m., before the morning Mass.
