St. Theresa Photo Directory

In the next few weeks volunteers will be at the sign-in tables in the Narthex, making appointments to have photos taken for a new directory. Please consider bringing your families in for photos.  This is not a fund-raiser; this is simply an effort to strengthen our community.  Frequently, we know parishioners by sight, but don't know their names or we see names in the bulletin and don't know who they are.  Many times people call the office wanting addresses to send sympathy cards, or personal notes to parishioners and because of privacy laws, we are unable to provide them.  This directory will make it possible for people to communicate as part of the larger community. This is our opportunity to put names to faces.  There will be many opportunities on weekends and evenings to have photos taken, so please schedule an appointment at the sign-in table in the Narthex.

Prayer Chain Update

We are in the process of updating the Prayer Chain for both parishes.  If you have someone you would like on the prayer chain, please contact the parish office.   Due to privacy laws, we can only accept names from family members of the person needing prayers, or from the person to be put on the prayer chain.  On January 1st any names not confirmed will be removed and can be added back on with a call to the parish office.

Adult Confirmation Preparation

The Diocese of Manchester will offer the Sacrament of Confirmation for Adults on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Saint Joseph Cathedral in Manchester at 2 p.m. . Your pastor’s permission is always required. Please see contact information to register or inquire about additional information regarding sessions.

2009 Tax Statements

If you use contribution envelopes for donations, the church can provide you with a statement of your donations for tax purposes.  Please contact the parish office to have this statement mailed during January.  If you do not use contribution envelopes, we cannot issue a tax statement.  If you would like to start using envelopes, please contact the parish office.

Seminarian Fund Collection
January 16-17, 2010

A vocation is more than a job, more than a career or a hobby. The word vocation means “a calling.” It is a calling from God to serve. The men of New Hampshire who have heard God’s call to the priesthood did not come to their decisions suddenly. They discovered they had a vocation through many years of formation in parish and family life. But even after one gets the call, the journey has just begun. Please remember our seminarians in your prayers, and offer your support to the Seminarian Fund.

Marriage Encounter Weekends

God gave us the greatest gift of love when He sent His son to redeem us.  He asks us to love one another as He loves us.  Take the time to grow deeper in love with God, your spouse and your family at a Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend.  The next Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekends in New England are January 8-10, January 29-31 and February 12-14.  For more information call Ralph & Jane Becker at

1-800-710-WWME or visit our Web page at http://www.wwmeMA.org

Year End Financial Planning

Please remember the church in your financial plans for the coming year.  Bequests, donations and gifts can be used towards the building fund or you can request that the money be used towards purchasing fuel, day to day running of the parish or special projects.  If you would like to give a gift to the church, please contact the parish office, or speak to Fr. Mark directly.

St. Theresa Parish Gardening Committee

On Christmas Eve day, the gardening committee hung garlands of popcorn and cranberries and strung orange slices on the Montgomery Spruce for the birds (over near the Holy Family). If you are in a crafty mood, please join us in creating treats to feed the birds throughout the winter. It's a great year to gather pinecones--smear them with peanut butter and roll them in bird seed to create an ornament for a pinecone bird feeder.

Respect Life

All New Hampshire pro-lifers are asked to meet in Concord on Saturday, January 16, 2010, to pray and call for an end to abortion on demand in New Hampshire.  The day will start at 9 AM with a prayer service at the Concord Dump (where aborted fetuses have been historically discarded) followed by a 10 AM Mass for Life at St. John the Evangelist located at 72 South Main Street in Concord.  At 11:45 pro-lifers will gather at the Capitol and march from the capitol back to St. John's for a 1 PM lunch and a talk by pro-life speaker Juda Myers.  Please consider joining us for one or more of the aforementioned events.  For more information contact Parish Respect Life Coordinator Michael Tierney or visit www.nhrtl.org.
