Coffee and Donuts Following Masses

Sunday, February 7, 2010

There will be no coffee and donuts during Lent.

Recently Baptized

Fr. Mark recently baptized Wyatt Thomas Beland, son of Craig and Stephanie Beland of Bennington.  Please pray for him as he continues to grow in God's grace.

Martha's Ministry

Thank you once again for the great outpouring of help and food for the William Walters funeral reception.  The family was extremely grateful.  You have scattered bread upon the water, may it return to you a hundredfold.

Jeannine Aucoin, Martha's Ministry Coordinator

Volunteer Needed

For the next several months we are looking for a volunteer to take the food from the bin in the Narthex to the Hopkinton Food Pantry.  Please contact the parish office if you are able to help.

CORRECTION

John Kelly's funeral was held this past week in New York, not Massachusetts.  We apologize for the error.

We recently received word that John Coyman passed away last month.

St. Theresa Photo Directory

St. Theresa Parish is putting together a new family photo directory. Please consider bringing your families in for photos.

Sign-up sheets are in the Narthex for March 5th and 6th.

This is not a fund-raiser; this is simply an effort to strengthen our community.  Frequently, we know parishioners by sight, but don't know their names or we see names in the bulletin and don't know who they are.  Many times people call the office wanting addresses to send sympathy cards, or personal notes to parishioners and because of privacy laws, we are unable to provide them.  This directory will make it possible for people to communicate as part of the larger community. This is our opportunity to put names to faces.  There will be many opportunities on weekends and evenings to have photos taken, so please schedule an appointment at the sign-in table in the Narthex.

Homeless Shelter needs donations

During the winter months, there is a homeless shelter in Concord for people who need shelter.  They are asking for donations of sample-sized soaps, shampoo, disposable razors, warm socks, gloves, deodorant, toothpaste, tooth brushes. Liquid Laundry Detergent, coffee hot chocolate or creamer are also in great demand.  If you can make a donation, please leave items in the box located in the Narthex.  Thank you.

Social Concerns Suggested Reading

We hear so much about the maltreatment of our downed servicemen during World War ll.  If you are interested in reading an uplifting although sometime sad, account of downed servicemen in Borneo, please read " The Airmen and the Headhunters" by Judith M. Heinmann.  Jeannine Aucoin

Spiritual Adoptees

Once again it is time to spiritually adopt children conceived to be born in October.  Please fill out the form below and place the completed form in the collection basket.  These names will be placed at the feet of Mary during February.  Please fill out a form, and then pray this simple prayer daily.

“Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I love you very much.  I beg you to save the life of the unborn baby that I have Spiritually Adopted who is in danger of abortion.”

SPIRITUAL ADOPTION

DATE __________________

I, __________________ pledge to spiritually adopt my unborn brother/sister in Christ today.  I pledge to intercede on his/her behalf to be spared from abortion by praying the ten-second prayer by Bishop Fulton Sheen; I spiritually name him/her

Pastor's Notes

Please take a moment to walk down the hallway near the bathrooms and look at the bulletin boards.  Most of our committees and organizations have updated their information.  Look for the pictures of our parishioners who were able to attend the March for Life in Washington DC last month.

Eco-Tip of the Week

With Spring around the corner (hopefully!), it's time to start thinking about feeding the birds again.  There are many ways to recycle household items into birdfeeders.  A very popular, natural and attractive birdfeeder can be made from pinecones, peanut butter and birdseed.  If you choose to put out birdfeeders, please keep them refilled regularly, as birds come to count on feeders for food, and if they are left empty the birds will go hungry.

Nunsense - The Musical

February 26, 27 & 28

Hillsboro-Deering Middle School

Nunsense begins when the Little Sisters of Hoboken discover that their cook, Sister Julia, Child of God, has accidentally poisoned 52 of the sisters, and they are in dire need of funds for the burials. The sisters decide that the best way to raise the money is to put on a variety show, so they take over the school auditorium.  Come see local performers in this witty, musical straight from Broadway.

Retrouvaille -A Lifeline

Rediscover a loving marriage with a Retrouvaille weekend.  If your marriage is tearing the two of you apart, if there is little or no meaningful communication, if you are considering separation or divorce, we believe Retrouvaille can help you.  The next New England Retrouvaille marriage renewal weekends will be held April 16 - 18 and September 24-26.  To register for a weekend or for more information, visit www.helpourmarriage.com or call 1-800-470-2230.
